Audience research, Questionnaire results

Our film would appeal to a mass audience as anyone who is interested in the genre horror can watch this. We handed out questionnaires and from these we were able to interpret and analyse the different ideas put forward from an audience. one question we asked was 'What is your favourite genre?' Most of people answered horror but was closely followed by comedy. As we wanted to do this it was good that most people had this as there preffered choice of genre. From the other questions we asked we were able to gain other ideas for weapons and places for locations with the woods being the most favoured place from the questions we asked. Another thing we picked up was that the audience said that they preffered the build up of tension and suspense more than the more bloody approach of just violence and gore.

Short film research from other creators.

These following films were the short films we researched for examples of other user content on the web. These are from youtube and all rights of course go to the creators. We looked at these before we made our film because we wanted to see the standard that other students and directors have created and wanted to go above and beyond. We wanted to watch them to get some ideas for different shots and techniques not for ideas as we had already decided on the film.

Horror Film Posters Research

For another piece of work we need to do i am going to create a poster for our film 'Out Of Signal' in photoshop usingour own media and resources. I am going to take a still from our film and edit it to make it look like a professional poster.
I am going to take some ideas from multiple other horror film posters and get some inspiration from them. An example of a couple are as follows:

I am going to analyse each individually in seperate posts and pick certain aspects from each that i like and dislike.
